About Course

This short course aims to develop English telephoning skills for enrolled third year students. It’s designed to be a part of VLE205 English for Career Preparation instruction. The course has 3 units including 1) Beginning a call 2) Leaving and taking messages and 3) Making an appointment.

What Will You Learn?

  • By the end of this course, you will be able to understand telephone phrases and make daily conversation on telephone.

Course Content

Unit 1 Beginning a call
In this unit, you will learn vocabulary and phrases about greetings, asking for someone, and giving information. Practice listening to telephone conversation and complete the exercises.

In this unit, you will learn vocabulary and phrases for leaving and taking messages including communication strategies for clarification.

Unit 3 Making an appointment
